Privacy Policy GENOLIER FOUNDATION

Presentation
We, GENOLIER FOUNDATION, based in Genolier, Switzerland, are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your Personal Data while continually improving the services we offer you.

All processing of Personal Data is carried out in strict compliance with applicable data protection law, in particular the new Federal Data Protection Act (nFDPA), which came into force on September 1, 2023.

This Privacy Policy represents proof of our commitment, and its objective is to ensure the protection of your privacy and the confidentiality of your Personal Data when you use our website or communicate with us. It is also intended to provide you with all information relating to the processing of any Personal Data we may collect via our online platforms (website, social networks), our online forms or registrations, or via any other type of interaction.

By accessing our website and/or communicating with us through it, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you must notify us (dataprotection@genolier-foundation.org) and discontinue using our web site. In this case, we will not be able to continue to offer you our services.

Personal Data
The term “Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as a name, identification number, location data, online identifier, date and place of birth, professional information, or to one or more factors specific to the physical, economic, cultural or social identity of the natural person.

The GENOLIER FOUNDATION website may collect Personal Data that you actively provide to us (e.g. your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address) when you fill in forms or register online. The GENOLIER FOUNDATION website may also collect other types of information when you, or an automated system, access our website (browser type and version used, operating system, referring sites, date and time of access to websites, IP address, Internet service provider, etc.).

You can subscribe to the GENOLIER FOUNDATION-News simply by clicking on “Newsletter subscription” on our website. You then will need to fill in a form on our website and confirm your subscription by e-mail. If you no longer wish to receive our news, you can cancel your subscription at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter. If you cancel your subscription, your Personal Data will be deleted.

Use and storage of your Personal Data
We process your Personal Data solely for providing you with a functional website. We may use the Personal Data you provide for the following purposes:

  • Managing our relationship and communications with you;
  • Marketing and promotional purposes tailored to your personal profile (personal invitations to conferences and events, communications about the Foundation, marketing communications, newsletters);
  • Analysis and statistics;
  • Commercial purposes, services and support;
  • Legal purposes (to prevent fraud and other prohibited or illegal activities).

Unless required by law or for security reasons for another given period, we may store or process your Personal Data for as long as we deem necessary, provided you do not withdraw your consent to their processing (for one or more given reasons) or exercise your right to be forgotten before the expiry date of all such periods (see “Contact” section below).

We restrict the use of and access to your Personal Data. It will only be used by us and our technology providers. We do not sell or transfer your Personal Data to third parties.

Processing of Personal Data
We store and process your Personal Data for the purposes for which you have given us your consent and in connection with the services we offer, except where it is impossible for practical reasons to obtain prior consent or where law permits the processing of your data. The storage of your Personal Data must be carried out in a manner compatible with legal obligations and available technologies.

Cookies
GENOLIER FOUNDATION web pages use cookies that are downloaded to your device when you visit our website. Cookies enable us to offer users of our website user-friendly services, to record preferences, to analyze site connections and to include third-party cookies. You can deactivate cookies via our website using the corresponding setting on the browser you are using, thus permanently refusing the use of cookies. In addition, cookies already set can be deleted at any time via a web browser or software programs. If you disable the use of cookies in your web browser, you may not be able to use all the functions of our website.

Social media networks
On our website, you will find links to social media networks. These are not plug-ins provided by the social media network, which, without any influence on the user, already transmit data to the provider when the page is loaded. Behind the buttons to social media networks is only a link to our presence on the social media network. No user data is transmitted from the website to the social media network.

When you click on a link to our social network profile, a direct connection is established between your browser and the server of the relevant social network. The network thus receives the information that you have visited our website with your IP address and that you have called up the link. If you consult a link to a network while logged in to your account on the relevant network, the content of our site may be linked to your profile on the network, which means that the network may attribute your visit to our site directly to your user account. If you wish to prevent this, you must log out before activating the relevant links. In any case, attribution takes place when you log in to the relevant network after clicking on the link.

Integration of third-party services and content
As part of our online offering, we may use content or service offerings from third-party providers in order to integrate their content and services, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter uniformly referred to as “content”). This always assumes that the third-party providers of such content perceive the user’s IP address, as they would not be able to send the content to the user’s browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore necessary for the presentation of this content. We endeavor to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address only for content delivery.
